Hôtel-Restaurant La Croix-Blanche - Villiers-Saint-Benoit - Puisaye-Forterre
La Croix Blanche” is a name originating from the Ancien Régime, referring to a place with stables and a coach house, specializing in welcoming and accommodating travelers on horseback.
We bought this former coaching inn in 2018 and completely restored it to create a unique and welcoming place.
Chef Bruno Ortolé offers traditional Burgundian cuisine in his restaurant, focusing on fresh local produce, and occasionally complementing it with delicious Creole specialties.
His wife Yolène welcomes guests and provides dining room service with empathy and professionalism.
La Croix Blanche has been listed in the Petit Futé guide since 2022 and in the Guide du Routard Bourgogne since 2024!

We welcome you to our establishment, which we have carefully renovated and decorated. We wanted to preserve the charm of this former coaching inn and make it last. We look forward to welcoming you to our pleasant dining room, where you can enjoy your meal in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

A word from the chef
An engineering graduate of the École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées, this lover of cooking passed his CAP on his own initiative and completed his training at the CIFA de l'Yonne before taking up the challenge of opening his own restaurant and eventually a hotel. "Having lived in Villiers Saint-Benoit for a number of years, I despaired of seeing this historic establishment closed down for good and overgrown. Should I accept the inevitability of the end of the rural world or take up the challenge of a renaissance in Villiers Saint-Benoit? With this project, I'm going to reconcile three things that I love: nature, the Puisaye region and the hotel and restaurant business, an area that has attracted me for a long time.

Yolène Ortolé is a former wedding planner with a wealth of experience in the catering trade. She welcomes customers with a smile, professionalism and skill, and provides room service.

Menu and opening times
Favouring local, high-quality products: an approach that guarantees freshness thanks to short supply circuits and loyalty to the land through trusting, regular and fruitful exchanges with local producers.
The restaurant is open:
Friday to Sunday from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
and every evening except Tuesday, by reservation, from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
